About us
Have you ever heard of “Kyoto”?
The marvellous cherry blossoms along Katsura River near KEM headquarters
Perhaps you have heard of, or even visited the historic city of Kyoto, Japan. Kyoto is the former capital of Japan and is regarded as the center of Japanese culture. It is the birthplace of many customs and artforms, and the site of many of Japan's most important shrines and temples. Japanese emperors lived in Kyoto from the 8th century through to the end of the Edo era in the19th century, a time that saw the end of the military dictatorship of the Shogunate.
In 1961, Kyoto Electronics Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (KEM) opened for business in this historical and beautiful city.
KEM's first milestone was becoming the first commercial producer of moisture titrators in Japan.
Since its foundation, KEM has been developing and manufacturing analytical instruments, creating measurement solutions for common and niche applications. Our customer base has broadened and we now serve the petroleum, chemical, medical, food & beverage and alcohol industries to name but a few.
KEM's product range includes instruments such as our Automatic Potentiometric Titrators, Karl Fischer Moisture Titrators, Density/Specific Gravity Meters, Refractometers and the EMS Viscometer. Our instruments have been attracting praise worldwide thanks to their high quality and the innovations that they bring.
